May To Do List

We are well into May but I thought I'd share a few things I still want to see/do/eat.

And they have great business cards - Instagram

Food: Palomar

For fans of Otteleghi's Israeli, Mediterranean style food, news that the guys behind Machneyuda, (a great restaurant in Jerusalem) are teaming up with siblings Layo and Zoe Paskin (who used to run clubs The End and AKA) to open an eat-at-the bar restaurant on Rupert St will fill you with joy and great grub. Expect polenta, pistachios and lots of fresh ingredients. Their soft launch starts this week, get in there quick and nab one of the 25 stools at the bar. @palomarsoho

See: Museums at night 15-17th May

Many of London's museums are putting on events well into the night. After a body is found on campus, a night of murder mystery begins. Discover who dunnit by solving clues across UCL's galleries and museums. Petrie Museum  6-9pm 16th May

Continuing the macabre theme, head to The Operating Theatre to hear the tale of 18th Century surgeons and their students practise of bodysnatching. 6.30 - 8.30pm 16th May

Dinosnores at The Natural History Museum is sadly sold out, but tickets are still available for a similar event on 20th June. It includes a three course meal, entertainment and horror films all night long to get you seriously spooked before bedding down under the skeleton of a Diplodocus. Book here.

Do: Battersea Car Boot sale

Whenever I need to make some space and dosh, I do a boot sale. As a buyer, this South London one is the best I've been to and I'm sure it will be good for sellers too. It starts at 12.30, so no ridiculously early starts and the pitches cost slightly more (about £25), so it draws better sellers. I have rummaged around a stall flogging last season Topshop for a quid a pop and have found a vintage wooden boule set for under a tenner.
